East Texas Tourism Association recently hosted a five day, four night "It's a Texas Hay Day" Familiarization (FAM) Tour to the cities of Denison, Sherman, Bonham, Greenville, Rockwall, Mesquite, Hillsboro, Jacksonville, Henderson, Tyler, Ennis, DeSoto, Waxahachie, Cleburne and Allen. Independent tour operators from Texas & Oklahoma were invited to preview future destinations for bus tours. The FAM Tour Operators were asked to vote on "The Best Of" in each of 12 categories. East Texas Tourism Association is proud to announce the winners are:

Best Step on Guide: 1st place: Peggy Renfro - Jacksonville; 2nd place: Milton Babb - Greenville; 3rd place: Suzanne Cross - Henderson

Best City: 1st place: Jacksonville; 2nd place: Tyler; 3rd place: Cleburne

Best Meal: 1st place: Landon Winery - Greenville; 2nd place: Cappy's Café - Bonham (tie); 2nd place: Buttons Jazz Café - DeSoto (tie); 3rd place: The Paper Plate - Denison

Best Attraction: 1st place: Texas Basket Company - Jacksonville; 2nd place: The Rose Garden - Tyler; 3rd place: Plaza Theatre - Cleburne (tie); 3rd place : Landon's Winery - Greenville

Best Historical Attraction: 1st place: Texas Heritage Museum - Hillsboro; 2nd place: Sam Rayburn Library - Bonham; 3rd place: The Ellis County Courthouse - Waxahachie

Most Unique: 1st place: Texas Basket Company - Jacksonville; 2nd place: Roadside America Museum - Hillsboro; 3rd place: Cell Block Museum - Hillsboro

Best Hospitality: 1st place: Cleburne; 2nd place: Tyler; 3rd place: Greenville (tie); 3rd place: Jacksonville (tie); 3rd place: Hillsboro (tie)

Best Desert: 1st place: Chocolate Cake from KE Bushman's Celebration Center - Bullard; 2nd place: Red Velvet Cake from Cappy's Café - Bonham; 3rd place: Cheese Cake from Landon Winery - Greenville

Best Gift Bag: 1st place: Greenville; 2nd place: Bonham; 3rd place: Tyler (tie); 3rd place: Mesquite (tie)
