The Historic U.S. 80 Hi-Way Sale that's about to rise along the right-of-way from Mississippi to Mesquite is more than a garage sale. It's an opportunity. An opportunity for cities and businessess along the hwy to take advantage of what most of us yearn for.... getting a good bargain. This year's Hwy 80 sale is April 19th, 20th & 21st & October 18th-20th. Each city is responsible for rallying the businesses and sellers to participate. You may drive for miles and not see anyone hawking thier wares and then stumble on a treasure trove of deals. A list of businesses participating can be found on our website and is updated daily. Its a great place to start.

10 Tips for Winter Driving
If you find yourself hitting the road during adverse conditions, consider these 10 tips to stay safe on your journey. 1. Know your route and keep abreast of weather conditions. The Web can be great source of current weather information. Make a list of Department of Transportation road-condition hotlines and consult them every few hours while you’re on the road. Pay special attention to avalanche conditions along your route, because temporary road closures are common in mountain areas. 2. Drink plenty of water. When the weather is chilly, dehydration might seem unlikely, but according to a study by the Mayo Clinic, as little as a 1-2 percent loss of body weight can lead to fatigue and reduced alertness — both of which can be deadly when you are driving in icy conditions. Carry (and drink) five to six 16-ounce bottles of water per day. Keep them with you in the passenger compartment, as they might freeze in the trunk.

Hotel Safety- Your guide to getting out
Here are some questions you can ask to make sure that you feel as safe traveling as you do at home: (1)Where are the hotel exits? Do you know? Do your kids? (2)'Look for the exit signs!' Make a game of it. Ask your kids if they know how to find the exits. (3)Count them. How many are there? (4) Where are they? How many doors to the left or right of your room? Four doors to the left, or maybe eight doors to the right? (5) Are the exit signs working? See if you can turn out the lights and let the kids see the signs in the dark. (6) Are they light enough? Are they on at all? (7)Where do the exits lead? A dark hallway? A dark stairwell? Or have they installed photoluminescent (glow-in-the-dark) safety way guidance systems? Exit signs are easy to miss, but they don't have to be. It is important to learn about what kind of safety systems are in place, as well as what is available. Stay safe as you travel.
